The Paula Kearney Dance Studio opened in Delaware County in September of 1972. The dance studio offers aspiring dancers the opportunity to develop skills, experience and discipline that provide the necessary foundation to build a professional career in dance. Paula, along with instructors and students have attended numerous conventions in New York, Boston, Baltimore, Richmond and Myrtle Beach sponsored by Dance Caravan, Dance Educators of America, Tremaine, Dance Olympus and Dance Makers.
Over the past 40 years, her students have won 100’s of trophies and awards in dance competitions. She has choreographed 10 musicals for Academy Park High School and the Southeast Delco School District, as well as choreography for the Fralinger String band. Her students have been on tour in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Ohio for ABC appearing in mall promotions representing Rainbow Brite, Sectaurs, Bugs Bunny, Batman, Scooby Doo, Ewok, The Cabbage Patch Kids and McDonald’s Fun Fit Kids. Former students have gone on to professional careers as dance instructors and dancing off Broadway, on cruise ships, in Las Vegas and as far away as Egypt. Dewey Oriente of Sharon Hill had a lead song and dance roll in “Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda” at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City.
In 1996, Paula had the honor to be nominated and appear in the 1996 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
